Yesterday, I began a class in Knoxville that I am attending with a writing buddy, Magpie. It's a bit of a drive but we spent most of the time confabbing (is that a word?) about our writing projects for the most part. This writing thing for both of us is not, and I repeat, not a hobby- it's serious. Serious as in serious fun.
We both seem a little obsessed with it. Should we seek therapy? Currently, we are spending time, a bit of money, and expending creative energy in doing something we both enjoy. I suspect we both want to leave a legacy in our little world that might explain who we are and what we think about life. Plus, there is so much to write about.
In the end, it is about having fun and enjoying what we are doing. Isn't that the bigger picture? To be able to do something creative that we acually enjoy. I spent quite a few years doing something I found interesting in the legal field. But fun? Nope. This writing thing is some of the hardest work I've ever done. But I think my writing buddy would agree...ultimately it is serious FUN!
