People...People... People

I just got back from Minneapolis, MN, visiting my hubby over the long 4th of July weekend. We enjoyed our time and I found I was pleasantly surprised at now nice the Twin Cities proved to be. Chattanooga should take a look at their park system...WOW!

During my flight, walking the park system in Minneapolis, and enjoying the fireworks on the river there, I was struck once again by how interesting people are. Of course, you have the differences in physical appearance: short, fat, thin, tall, mohawk hair, buzz cut, purple/pink dye jobs, handsome, not so handsome, beautiful, plain, or even downright ugly. Then there's the differences in style: jeans and t-shirt, sun dresses are extremely popular at the moment, shorts of every length with casual tops, then there's the occasional ency wency tiny tops that allow the wearer to show off that oh so cute belly button diamond stud or ring. My personal unfavorite is the dress (take note I'm using that term loosely) that reaches the very bottom of the 'bottom' with tantalizing glimpses of a cheek that may or may not have a thong 'covering' it.

And let's talk pda's for a moment. You know, personal displays of affection. I love for my husband to take hold of my hand and guide me through a crowd, or maybe place his hand on the small of my back to keep me close in a throng. We've been known to sneak in a quick peck or two on the lips! But, there are those in the world who want you to SEE the following: 1) just how long their tongues can be pushed down into someone else's throat, 2) how clever they can be at snaking a hand down into the back or front of someone's pants, or 3) the oh so common behaviour trait of those couples who want to be stars in a porn movie but can't find a director to perform an audition for. Therefore, they are forced to subject those around them to clutching and grabbing, nuzzling, and throat invasive performances in the off-chance a porn producer might be in attendance.

I love the children. The wide-eyed look of innocence and open curiosity of those around them or of what they are seeing. The more outgoing and social are truly fun. But, I love those shy ones who peek up at people or nose around a leg to check out the goings-on around them. They are the observers of the world- taking note of what they see and storing it or future reference. Perhaps a writer in the making?

There are times I think human beings would be the much more interesting folks to watch behind the bars at zoo's.
